Jenny Amory, Chief Executive Officer

has more than 30 years of experience in community organizations focusing on women's leadership and quality educational programs for children and youth. Previously, she served as the Executive Director of Teen Voices, a journalism, mentoring, and leadership program for girls in Boston that publishes a print and online magazine worldwide. In addition to her extensive nonprofit management experience, Jenny has served on several boards including Third Sector New England and the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation. In 2011, she was honored as a Barr Foundation Fellow.

Jenny has a BS in Social Work from New York University and a Masters in City Planning from M.I.T.  She lived in Brookline for 13 years, and her two children, Jeremy and Kyle, attended the Lincoln School and Brookline High School.

 

 

Laura Becker, Finance Director

has over 35 years of nonprofit experience with 20 of those being in a senior management position. Prior to joining Brookline Community Foundation, she was the Chief Financial Officer at Catholic Charities Worcester County overseeing a $10M operating budget.  While at Catholic Charities, she was instrumental in upgrading many of their systems including payroll, general ledger fund accounting, fundraising and client management software.  Before that, Laura worked for the South Middlesex Opportunity Council, a private nonprofit human service agency in Framingham, where she was the Director of Grants and Contracts.  In her capacity there, she was responsible for over 80 grants and contracts funded by federal, state, and local governments as well as private donations and foundations. Laura graduated from Framingham State University with a degree in Economics.

Caitlyn Burke, Donor Services Manager

has four years of nonprofit development experience. Most recently she was the Development Associate at The Samfund, an organization that provides financial assistance to young adult cancer survivors. Caitlyn is an AmeriCorps VISTA alumnae and has an MBA in Nonprofit Management from the Heller School of Social Policy and Management and a BA in History and English from Saint Michael's College. 

 

Jennifer Lemire, Program Director

has more than 14 years of experience managing domestic and international grants and building robust community development and grant making programs. Prior to joining the Brookline Community Foundation, Jennifer was the International Programs Director at the Foundation for Sustainable Development (FSD) in San Francisco, an organization that provides students and professionals with intensive training in grassroots sustainable development and technical assistance and human resources support to overseas partner organizations. In addition to her time at FSD, Jennifer also worked for Grassroots International, a Boston-based international development and human rights organization that supports community-led sustainable development projects, the Tikvah Fund, and El Circulo de Mujeres/The Circle of Women. Jennifer holds a Master of Arts in International Development from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Amy Silberstein, Director of Leadership Giving

has more than 22 years of non-profit and fundraising experience in the Greater Boston area. Most recently, Amy was part of the Leadership Gifts team in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at Brandeis University.  As Associate Director, she focused on major gift fundraising for all aspects of the University including scholarship, the arts and planned giving. She co-founded the Brandeis Arts Council for outreach and alumni engagement, formed to raise funds for, and bring greater attention to, the University’s fine arts, theatre and music departments. Amy has been an active volunteer for many non-profit organizations in the Boston area, including Cradles to Crayons, Birthday Wishes and Community Servings. Three years ago, Amy co-founded an organization called Food To Your Table, whose mission is to bring food "from those that grow it to those who need it." Amy graduated with a BA from Brown University.

 

Theresa Fortillus, Operations Manager

has over 7 years of experience in community development and human services. Prior to joining the Brookline Community Foundation, Theresa was the Operations Manager at Action for Boston Community Development, Inc.’s Roxbury/North Dorchester Neighborhood Opportunity Center, an anti-poverty organization serving low-income individuals and families in the Boston area. In addition to her community development work, Theresa also serves as a Trustee for the Grove Hall Trust, a community stakeholder-led neighborhood foundation dedicated to supporting community-grown ideas through philanthropy. Theresa holds a B.S. in Business Management with a Concentration in Nonprofit Management from Lesley University and a Graduate Certificate in Human Services and Nonprofit Management from Suffolk University.
